TOUR! Day 1: Minneapolis

Mpls

First stop: Radio Noir.  Turns out the place had been robbed just an hour before my arrival, so Pat was understandably rattled.  Think good thoughts for them!!  The show goes on (and it did), and since music is an outlet, the guys joined in on drums and guitar for the broadcast (which will be save on their podcast).

The goal for this tour is to hash out a lot of the new Lamb material, so we launched with a brand new song (written today on the drive here): "Nothing Matches."  The guys, i.e., "in-house band" picked up the songs right away, I can't wait to hear these versions online.

Then to Stacy and Carl's for the first house show!!  So warm and cozy- the people, the cider, the cupcakes.  It's just such a huge difference from a bar show!!  Experimented a lot with new material (thanks for the drummers!)- and mostly people tolerated the experimentation. :0)  Also- I'm now noticing that Stacy's laptop has a "Make Cupcakes Not War" sticker on it.  Awesome.

Oh! And the show was livestreamed (with 2 camera angles, no less!) by More Cowbell.  The file will be archived on the site, so... hopefully I didn't embarrass myself too much. http://morecowbell.net/live/

Also very excited to see Brianna Lane-- she just got back from touring BY BIKE to Boston with Pete Mulvey!!  Holy crap, lady!!  That's so badass.  I heard her last in Sheboygan at a show hosted by the Paradigm crew, on a farmhouse porch.  One of the most lovely evenings in my life- and what a beautiful voice.  Looking forward to learning the ways of a Minneapolis breakfast tomorrow with her.  Maybe inspect her knitting skills.

Thanks for such a warm kick-off!!!!  And now I'm learning all about ROKU (the netflix wet dream) and Clown Posse something or another (nightmares).
